Favorite Christmas Songs

I’ve seen so many people do this already so I guess it’s my turn haha.

If you want to see some more Christmas song posts, go check two of my wonderful friend’s blogs.

Now, time for me to tell you everything I love to listen to. I don’t really listen to the classics as much as I do covers of songs and new artists.

Justin Bieber: Mistletoe

Taylor Swift: Last Christmas

Megan & Liz: It’s Christmas Time

Justin Bieber Ft. Busta Rhymes: Drummer Boy

Frosty the Snowman

Rocking around the Christmas Tree

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Where Are You Christmas

I don’t really listen to a lot of music if you can tell. I’m more into trap. But during the holidays I make a little tiny exception.

Here’s a little update since this post was very short.

I’m allergic to Christmas. Literally. I’m allergic to Christmas trees so when Andrew’s family was decorating their tree, I stayed on the other side of the room and admired from a distance. Although, I had to take a picture with it and pray I didn’t accidentally touch it and break out into hives.

I didn’t get hives so I think I’m doing good!

My Christmas Decorations

Christmas is by far one of my favorite times of the year. I love everything about it. From decorating and baking to seeing family and watching Holiday Baking Championship on the Food Channel. Everything about it is great.

Each year after Thanksgiving (the day after to be exact), I decorate my room. Decorating my room takes about 7 hours to do. I have to dust everything, move a bunch of things down to the basement, bring everything up, get distracted by my phone 2,000 times, take 3 breaks and eat, start decorating, stub my toe and get mad, take a nap, then finally finish.

So here’s my Christmas decorations this year.

This first decoration is from Target. They’re snowflakes that light up.

Decorations: Light up Snowflakes

They were $5 so if you’re looking for a cheap but cute as hell decoration, Target is the way to go.

Decorations: Snowflakes

Here’s my other set of snowflakes. They don’t light up but they sure are cute. I stole these from my mom two years ago.

Decorations: Green Tree

Next is my traditional Christmas tree. This tree is very special to me because it’s my grandma’s. When she moved out of her house she gave it to me. I would decorate it with her every year when I was little so it seemed fitting for me to get it. The presents under it are fake. My mom gave me those for decoration a few years ago. I think it’s so cute.

Decorations: Coffee Table

Here is my coffee table. On the top is my favorite B&BW candle “Vanilla Bean Noel”. There’s a little Christmas tree in the center (It was also my grandma’s). I have a mailbox decoration that I stole from my mom a few years ago. Glad she doesn’t read these haha. I have a Starbucks cup that has little candy canes in it. The present on the left is from Menard’s that I got two years ago and on the opposite side is a candy tray full of my favorite candy: Reese’s. Lastly, behind the candy tray is a white and blue rose that Andrew got me a few days ago. I was sad so he wanted to cheer me up. Ain’t he just the best?

Then I have some Christmas cards and stuffies on the bottom.

Decorations: Top Coffee Table

Decorations: White Tree

Yes, I have two Christmas trees in my room. 1. I love Christmas. 2. My room is white and blue themed, so when I saw this tree I had to go for it. The ornaments I got at Walmart and the blue ones have glitter on them… there’s glitter all over my carpet over there but that’s alright! It’s pretty.

Decorations: B&BW Perfume

These are my top 3 favorite Christmas perfumes. Just had to throw this in there.

Decorations: Window Tinsel

On both of my windows I have silver tinsel up because why not?

Decorations: BedLast but not least is my bed. I love my bed. On it I have my pillow pet, two blue pillows, and an Illinois pillow because well, that’s where I live. Christmas wise, I have three really fuzzy blankets. The first one is a blue snowflake one (I have a thing for snowflakes), a red reindeer one and a Christmas quote blanket. I have a reindeer stuffy up against the wall too (Her name is Rudy).

That’s my room! Hope you all enjoyed! Now I have to go send out some Christmas cards.

Christmas Walk | Day 3

Each year in this little town, there’s a Christmas walk. All the small businesses (Library, pharmacy, hardware store etc.) are open and you can go in there and get cookies and other sweets that I don’t need to be eating. Lord only knows I need more candy.

Of course, I was with my best friend Carly (Jimmy to some of you), and Andrew. We cause trouble everywhere we go.

Christmas walk 2

We went to the firehouse and had soup. Her baby, Phoenyx slept the whole time. Carly decided to be a little festive and wear some reindeer antlers. She also had to ask me if Vixen was one of the reindeer. Yes Carly, Vixen is a reindeer.

There was a hay rack ride…. this happened.

Christmas walk 4

We’re all still children on the inside. No denying that.

Overall it was really fun. There was a fire so I wasn’t extremely cold. I saw a lot of my family and friends. After the Christmas walk I spent the night bowling (yes, I went bowling with a broken rib) with my best friends.

Where Did Thanksgiving Go??

Halloween has come and gone like every other year. Children have gotten their candy, all the “trick or treats” have been said, all the ghosts and goblins have gone away for the year. What does everybody start thinking about now? The next big holiday: Christmas.

Christmas trees come out in stores. Wrapping paper, ornaments, garland, candy canes, and sugar cookies come out of their boxes and go up on shelves. Kids start getting excited. Parents are getting stressed. I have one question for all of you:

Where did Thanksgiving Go??

I get that Christmas is exciting, I’m excited for it too. But nobody needs to be decorating their house for Christmas the first of November. That’s ridiculous. No offense to any of you who do that. Actually, I saw Christmas decorations out at Walmart at the beginning of October. Before Halloween. Halloween hasn’t even happened yet, and all these stores are trying to get me to buy a Christmas tree. Don’t even try to tempt me with Christmas cookies until I’ve had some turkey and pumpkin pie.

*Taken on November 2nd*

My family normally decorates for Christmas on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. A much safer and family oriented thing to do instead of Black Friday shopping and getting trampled. I don’t do good in crowds. To me, it doesn’t feel right to decorate for Christmas until we’ve fully celebrated Thanksgiving by stuffing our faces, being thankful for everything we have (Christmas decorations included), watching football and taking a very long well deserved nap after.

I feel like Thanksgiving is so over looked because it’s not something you can go all out decorating for. Pretty much you show up, eat food, talk to family, say some prayers and leave. But it’s so much more than that. So why should we over look it like we do? I think we should all be excited for Thanksgiving just as much as we are for Christmas, or any other holiday for that matter. There might not be presents, a Christmas tree with lights and ornaments, Santa and awesome smelling candles, but Thanksgiving is where we get to be thankful we have all those things.

Just something to think about… 💙
