‘IT’ Movie

Hey guys! Welcome back to my blog. Last Saturday, Andrew talked me in to going to see ‘IT’. There were two problems with that… 1. I DO NOT like clowns. 2. I can’t sit in a movie theatre for 2 and a half hours being scared by Pennywise. But Andrew promised me popcorn and I can’t resist movie theatre popcorn with butter. So I caved in and went with him and I don’t regret seeing the movie.

Honestly, when I saw the previews for the movie I thought it was just going to be another crappy scary movie with a crappy plot line and crappy actors with too many unnecessary jump scares. Jump scares tick me off because I always get scared then Andrew laughs at me.Β (He doesn’t get scared easily so he gets joy out of laughing at me).Β But right from the beginning of the movie all the way to the end is an amazing plot line. It tells a story and actually gets you invested into the characters. You start to care about the characters and you get emotionally invested towards them. The kid actors were absolutely amazing which made the movie so much better. Don’t even get me started on the clown. That was such amazing acting and scared the crap out of me.

It was so much more than just a scary movie. There was lots of swearing, inappropriateΒ  humor (my favorite), fighting, “romance moments”, and then the scary parts. I was actually pretty sad when the movie ended. I wanted it to keep going because it just kept pulling me into the story. Then on the screen at the end it said “Chapter 1” so everybody automatically got excited to see there’s going to be a Chapter 2 coming out in the future.

Overal I would not hesitate to give IT 5 stars. I will defiantly be waiting excitedly with everybody else for Chapter 2. Stephen King is the master at writing horror books. I heard the movie didn’t even capture how truly scary the book is, so I might have to read the book eventually. If I do, I’ll let you know how IT is! I hope you all liked reading! πŸ’™

  1. I loved IT! Just as much as the original, if not more. I loved the new Pennywise. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this new cast of kids, but I ended up really liking them. I also liked the intensity of the storyline with Beverly and her father. In the original movie, it’s only really hinted at that he’s abusive, but they took it a step farther in this adaptation. I felt so bad for her but loved when she beat him upside the head.

    1. I haven’t seen the original but this was amazing. But did Beverly’s father molest her? It kinda seemed like that but Andrew and I couldn’t figure it out. They never came right out and said it but it was sorta hinted at. I loved the one scene where the boy is leaving his house and he yells at his mom “These are gazebos! That means bullshit!” πŸ˜‚ that part had me cracking up for the rest of the movie

      1. Omg you need to watch the original! I think this one was on par, if not better, but the original is good too. I grew up watching it. In the original movie it implies that Beverly’s father is abusive by how scared she acts around him, but yes this film most definitely implied that Beverly’s father is sexually abusive. I laughed so hard at that gazebos line too! The whole theater cracked up.

          1. I prefer part one in the original movie, but hopefully they make an awesome part 2 for this one. I’m really curious who they’re going to cast for the adults since part 2 takes place 27 years later.

  2. I shit myself. It was my first horror and was a great introduction into the horror world for me. Not that I’d see any more horrors. the scares were worth every minute of IT. I’m so glad he convinced you to go.

    1. I’ve always loved horror movies. But none of them could even compare to this one. It’s going to be really hard for somebody to top this one. I’m going to be having nightmares about clowns for months lol
